Your Teacher, Kim
I started my own musical educational at the age of 7, when I taught myself how to play my brother's clarinet! I soon progressed onto my own instrument, the flute, and then diversified into cello, double bass, piano and voice. I studied a Bachelors in Music at Royal Holloway, University of London, with contemporary and Alto Flute as my main focus, where I studied under Carla Rees, and performed as part of the rarescale Flute Academy as an alto flute specialist.
I graduated in 2011 and further completed an MA in Shakespeare Studies, with a focus on the evidence of musical theory practice in Early Modern Literature. Alongside my studies and career in Marketing and Events (plus maternity leave for my own two kiddos!) I have taught students both recorder, flute, and music theory privately.
I hold an enhanced DBS disclosure certificate, public liability insurance, professional indemnity insurance, and am a member of the Musician's Union. I have also completed extensive safeguarding training, and hold a Level 3 qualification for Paediatric First Aid.
