Your Teacher, Kim

I started my own musical educational at the age of 7, when I taught myself how to play my brother's clarinet! I soon progressed onto my own instrument, the flute, and then diversified into cello, double bass, piano and voice. I studied a Bachelors in Music at Royal Holloway, University of London, with contemporary flute as my main focus, where I studied under Carla Rees, and performed as part of the rarescale Flute Academy as an alto flute specialist. I graduated in 2012 and further completed an MA in Shakespeare Studies, with a focus on the evidence of musical theory practice in Early Modern Literature. Alongside my studies and career in Marketing and Events I have taught students both recorder, flute, and music theory privately, and now having had an extended maternity leave with two young children, I am looking to share my passion with a new generation of young musicians.

I hold an enhanced DBS disclosure certificate, public liability insurance, professional indemnity insurance, and am a member of the Musician's Union.
